Another crappy day in paradise. Bored at work, stressed over the smallest thing. The only bright light was my friend Catherine telling me her "my 18 month old boy vomited everywhere after the childminder fed him garlic" story, which was very funny ;-)
My bloody UT2003 had better be here by tonight too, sick of waiting for it.
As you can tell i am not in a good mood, so probably best if I keep today's short.
Pop over to Scaryduck (not scary, not a duck) for a couple of funny stories though ;-)
Later.

Ho hum, Wednesday and all is not well, 2 servers down at work but I'm just chilling and letting others bother about it. Watched Star Wars - Empire strikes back last night, not as good as I remember but still ok for a couple of hours, although Princess Leia was really starting to piss me off. Han and Luke should have packed her off to a monastery about 20 minutes in and then just kicked back in some bar with some laaadies.
Suffered from 'must-buy-videos' disease again on Manday. Walked into our local discount video store and walked out with 4 vids. Better than the 6 last time though, 2 of which I have yet to watch. I bought Devil's Advocate (Pacino and Canoe Reeves), A few good men (quite a good film actually), Fargo (never watched it but everyone raves about it) and Jerry Maguire which I also like.
Stuff to do on pay-day: Buy another 256M of ram, Pre-order GTA3 Vice City and Tomb Raider AoD for PS2 (that's 90 quid spent then..).
Tired now, soooo want to go home. Nearly fell asleep in front of the telly last night, still think I'm catching up from the weekend.
Anyway, later...

I spent the weekend at our CS clan LAN event, iMookie..
Here's the report:
iMookster.
Location : Middlewich, Cheshire.
Friday – Sunday.
I arrived around 2:30 on the Friday at the home of Tommo and Mookie to find that I was the first there. Mookie said Tommo had gone to pick up his brother and another clan member and would be back soon. Moved stuff into the living/LAN room and stared in disbelief at the size of Tommo’s telly.
Moved some more stuff in and blagged a bedroom. Came downstairs and looked at Tommo’s telly again.
Phone call from Tommo, he’s stuck in Birmingham and is going to be ages, traffic is a nightmare. Me and Mookie play CS in the office.
Tommo and his brother and Snakey finally arrive about 6:30, so I was only 4 hours early then ;-)
We got set up and ran some local servers until Rav and the rest arrived around 10ish (IIRC). From then one we were up and running. We had a 2v2 tourney running and several 5v5 games based on 2 5 man teams. The 5v5 games were to be on CS (obv) Proball, Q3, Ricochet and MOHAA.
At around midnight the power tripped for the first time.
Around 1 it did it again. Rav’s server died and he spent most of the night rebuilding it.
We moved some of the power leads onto the upstairs circuit, not realising at the time we were actually putting more load on that circuit all the time.
Around 2, very drunk, spent about 5 minutes looking at the blue interior of Lordie’s machine through his Perspex panel. Very cool.
Owned everyone at everything. Went to bed around 5ish.
Saturday. Got up around 10 to find Tommo cooking bacon and sausages. Hmm, bacon and sausage butty for breakfast, lovely.
Fired up the machines, tripped the power. Reset, played some, made some demos, watched Carnage pull off and amazing deagle HS through a hostages shoulder on a moving target. Hose re-installed OGC (not really, but was owning).
Played more with lots of “we’ll have a walk into town in 5 minutes” type comments. Finally had a walk in at about 3sih. Tommo decided to cook chilli for tea as it was cheaper.
Played some MOHAA. My first time on this game, loved it. Played UT2003 demo on multiplayer. Awesome. Best looking game I have ever seen. It looks like you’re playing in a FFVII pre-rendered background.
Sat night was just hardcore gaming and drinking, some stroppiness from some people but nothing serious. Played most of the rest of the 2v2 games. I think Lordie and me finished second, mainly due to him though. More 5v5 games and then I finally trundled off to bed around 4:30. This was unfortunate as it all kicked off soon after. Earlier in the day Lordie had said he fancied a number 2 haircut. So as soon as he passed out on the settee they gave him one ;-)
Mooseh was very very drunk indeed, so, when he passed out they poured a mixture of chilli sauce, brown sauce and sugar and green food colouring into his hair and used it to stick a bottle top on. Then wrote the word ‘Volume’ with a twist sign around his nipple (he had been loud all night) and then stuck 2 stips of masking tape over his chest with ‘Miss November 2002’ on one of them. Finally a fake roll-up was put in one hand and a fresh chilli in the other, then he was taped to the chair and porpped up with a sign reading ‘Will blow men for food or bandwidth’ hung around his neck. All while passed out. I have photos ;-).
Sunday was just breakfast and wind-down and then I knackered my PC and had to install XP as no-one had any other OS disks with them, although I love it now, and leeched a load of software off Lordie and then I set off back around 5ish.
So, attendees:
Tommo,
Mookie
Darksnake (-Ti-)
Lordie,
Special_k,
Voodoo_Moose,
Rav,
Virus (FADE) (Tommo’s younger brother)
Hose,
Carnage,
Slippyboy,
Pandora,
Sasdfish (visitor).
Consumed: Forget it, no idea, I got through 12 cans of John Smiths and about the same of Stella. Others had more.
Finally, from our forums:
Just wanted to say how good it was to see people at the weekend. Nice to put faces to names etc.
Thanks very much to Tommo and Mookie for putting up with 12 idiots for the weekend. Well done to the 12 idiots for not completely wrecking the house. Well done to Hose for completely wrecking my machine (only messing mate, my fault ) and thanks to Rav and Moose and Lordie (the leechmaster) for fixing it..
Also, extras thanks to Tommo for not freaking too much when the power kept tripping and also to Rav (and Lordie etc) for rebuilding the server...
For those who weren't there, you did miss quite a lot, but the photos will be up somewhere soon. Look out for the very stylish Mr Moose ;-)
See you all soon.
